ABOUT Jess TownsendI've spent 20+ years watching capable people be held back by work that was never designed around them.
I’m Jess — founder of HumanSync. and an independent facilitator, advisor and fractional partner based in Tauranga.
For more than two decades I worked in senior leadership, change and operational roles across a high-growth, nationally distributed organisation. I saw firsthand how complexity scales faster than clarity.
Again and again I saw the same pattern: smart, committed people working incredibly hard — yet held back by unclear priorities, misaligned leadership and ways of working that had simply never been intentionally designed.
That realisation is what shaped HumanSync. I stand for designing work in ways that make people feel more energised, connected, capable and purposeful — because humans thrive when they feel seen, trusted, involved and connected to something that matters. When that's true, performance takes care of itself.
I'm known for building trust fast, asking the questions that matter, and bringing energised clarity to complexity — in a way that creates ownership, not dependency.
